Is Your Man A Botox Guy?

Top 5 Non-surgical cosmetic treatments: Men v. Women

Based on the same 2011 data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons that we blogged about last month, here is a look at how men and women differ in the cosmetic treatments they are choosing. First, lets set the record straight, in this study women represent 91% of all cosmetic procedures, and men only 9%. Among the minimally-invasive procedures, women outnumber men more than 10 to 1 — however, the number of men getting these non-surgical treatment rose 8% from 2010 to 2011 (women's growth from the previous year was 6%).

The number one treatment for both men and women was Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox® and Dysport™). The genders share the other Top 5 treatments as well (laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, chemical peels and facial fillers), just in a different order. Here's a look (below) at how they differ by gender.

Is your man secretly considering a cosmetic treatment? Maybe it's time to ask!

Always Wear Sunscreen!

Warmer weather is here and this is the time to protect your skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays. The summer means showing more skin and sunscreen is vital in maintaining beautiful and healthy skin. Sunscreens are designed to either absorb or reflect both types of the sun's ultra violet rays. UVB rays cause reddening and sunburn while the UVB rays breaks down collagen. We need our collagan to keep our skin looking plump and youthful. Sunscreen should be applied to exposed areas before going to work or out to play!
