ThermiVa Featured on The Doctors

ThermiVa, the newest addition to Dr. Hamori's Cosmetic GYN offerings was featured recently on "The Doctors" TV Show on Monday, September 28th.

Dr. Jennifer Berman, a regular on the show and a close colleague of Dr. Hamori's, actually had the procedure done herself. View the episode to learn more about this new radio frequency, non-surgical procedure that is showing great promise in several areas of vaginal rejuvenation — these include tightening and treating incontinence and improving sexual satisfaction.

Next Big Thing: ThermiVa Non-Surgical Vaginal Tightening

There is exciting news on the horizon for women who suffer from vaginal laxity. ThermiVa is a new non-surgical treatment that uses radio frequency (RF) technology to tighten and rejuvenate the vagina. I commented on this new treatment for The Plastic Surgery Channel (see video below).

Who is the best candiate for ThermiVa?

ThermiVa is for women 30 and older that have had children and suffer from vaginal dryness, laxity and mild urinary leakage with coughing.

ThermiVa has been shown in clinical trials to:
  • Tighten vaginal muscles
  • Improve vaginal lubrication
  • Reduce mild stress incontinence
  • Potentially improve sexual function.
The technology is FDA approved for general dermatologic use and surgery, and is currently under Institutional Review Board (IRB) for vaginal tightening. The ThermiVa Vaginal Laxity Study with radio frequency therapy is being conducted to evaluate the clinical effectiveness to help reduce vaginal laxity and looseness.

Once this technique is fully approved, I really think it’s going to take off! The study is showing marked improvement in a woman’s ability to have an orgasm and feel more confident, especially if they are noticing droopiness or having urinary incontinence.

I am in the process of adding this treatment to my non-surgical offerings. Stay tuned!
