I am pleased to announce that we will be offering CoolSculpting by Zeltiq in the Skin Spa. Zeltiq offers a new, non-invasive way to gently reduce fat in targeted areas of your body. Zeltiq is unique in its use of cooling technology to eliminate fat cells. There are no needles, no incisions, and no need for anesthesia or pain medications, and no recovery time.The technology is based on research done by dermatologists at Massachusetts General Hospital which showed that fat cells are more vulnerable to cold than other surrounding tissue — a scientific principle called "Cryolipolysis."
It is administered using an applicator that delivers precisely controlled cooling that triggers a process of natural removal of fat cells, gradually reducing the thickness of the fat layer. Reduction in fat bulges can usually be seen in two to four months.
Best candidates for the Zeltiq are relatively fit, but have some modest-size fat bulges that are not easily reduced through diet and exercise. They are seeking spot reduction for specific areas of fat, but are not considering a surgical procedure. The procedure is not a way to lose weight or treat obesity, and it is not a substitute for invasive methods like liposuction.
