Safer Comfort: Journavx Pain Pill Now Available

Dr. Hamori and Dr. DiEdwardo are pleased to now offer patients a new option for pain relief related to cosmetic treatments and surgeries. Journavx (suzetrigine) is an FDA-approved, non-narcotic, non-opioid prescription medicine used to treat moderate to severe short-term pain, including post-operative pain. This is the first new class of pain management medication approved in more than two decades, with no addiction potential and no side effects such as constipation and mood changes.

Journavx works by blocking the sodium channels along nerves that are activated by painful stimuli (see their website for an informative animation of how it works).

Journavx provides an alternative to other pain management options such as oxycodone, NSAIDs, and Tylenol. Please discuss your options when considering treatments or surgery.

Dr. Hamori expects it to be “a game changer in the office/spa offering new levels of comfort for popular procedures such as Morpheus8 RF, microneedling, Ellacor, Ultherapy and Sofwave. The new medication will significantly reduce pain during the procedure, allowing fuller, deeper treatment.”

For many surgery patients, a Journavx prescription will replace what would normally require a narcotic medication.
