Labiaplasty Trending: This Surgery Helps Women Feel Sexier, More Confident

This cosmetic surgery procedure — which has grown by 44% over the last year* — has been reported by some of my patients as helping them to feel sexier and more self-confident. What is it? It’s labiaplasty (also called labioplasty), one of the most popular procedures that I perform.

This surgery has increased in popularity by 44%.
Over the past few years women of all ages have become more concerned with the appearance of their genital area. Most patients seeking labioplasty feel that they do not want hanging of the labia minora beyond the labia majora or outer lips. Others feel bulky in pants or a bathing suit to the point of not wanting to wear any revealing clothing.

While many patients are still shy about addressing this area of their body that they may not feel happy with, the barriers to discussing it are lowering. Most patients still approach the topic of surgery in this area in quiet whispers. I feel over time women will become more and more comfortable talking about and considering this cosmetic enhancement — just the way breast surgery was once a hush-hush topic, but now is freely discussed by many women.

The Plastic Surgery Channel recently came to my medical office in Duxbury to report on this trend. The video has just been released. You can view it here on The Plastic Surgery Channel and on my YouTube Channel.
