Say Hello Kybella, Goodbye Double Chin!

I am pleased to introduce Kybella™ — the first NON-INVASIVE, FDA-approved injectable for treatment of that dreaded "double chin" (also known as submental fat).  As a member of the Speakers Bureau for Kybella, I'm posting this from Chicago, where I was invited as the chosen plastic surgeon from Massachusetts to participate as a physician trainer for clinical instruction and education.

What makes this new offering so exciting is that after a treatment plan of usually 6 or fewer sessions, your double-chin problems are over. This is a permanent destruction of fat cells. How it works.

The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, it causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.
